As part of this conference, RNDr. Lenka Rajsiglová, PhD from the Laboratory of Immunotherapy, gave a lecture on the topic of “Targeted nanocarrier-mediated enhancement of chemotherapy and immune response in colorectal cancer“, for which she received the Best Presentation Award.
The lecture discussed the novel THE-10 nanoparticles based on the human ferritin protein, which were developed to enhance the effectiveness of existing cancer therapies. These nanoparticles have special bioactive peptides on their surface that permeabilize the tumor microenvironment and turn off the “immune brakes” that allow tumor growth. This approach could open new doors for a better and more efficient combination in cancer treatment in the future. (Tisci G, Rajsiglova L, Bibbo S, et al. doi:10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2025.142843).
The project was co-financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU within the framework of the National Recovery Plan (LX22NPO5102, EXCELES, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic).
Congratulations!
