Job description
POSTDOCTORAL research associate – V3/V4 research scientist
to work on mechanisms underlying the key role of the FhaB protein of the pertussis agent Bordetella pertussis in bacterial adhesion to airway epithelial cells and complement inhibition.
The research will comprise recombinant DNA work, epithelial cell culture, protein biochemistry, complement assays, as well as advanced fluorescence and electron microscopy and sample preparation for mass spectrometric analysis of crosslinked protein complexes.
Requirements
- PhD. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular/Cellular Biology, Structural Biology, or a related field and availability to start in January/February 2025
- Professional level of written and spoken English
- Publication record adequate to the career stage of the candidate
- Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, independence and passion for research
- Good communication and interpersonal skills of a team player
