As part of a five-year research grant (2024-2028) funded by the Program
Johannes Amos Comenius at the Laboratory of Algal Biotechnology of the Institute of Microbiology is opening a new postdoctoral position in the field of cyanobacterial natural product biosynthesis.
The grant project aims to perform heterologous expression of cyanobacterial natural products in a cyanobacterial host.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Planning and conducting laboratory experiments.
- Analyzing data and uncovering the wider context.
- Writing research papers in the fields of synthetic biology and publishing them in impact journals.
- Presenting results at international conferences.
- Coordinating a small working team (2-3 people).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent in microbiology/chemistry/biochemistry or related fields relevant to our research.
- Experience in cloning, heterologous expression, cyanobacterial cultivation and its physiology, Analytical chemistry-HPLC, LC-MS, and chromatography techniques.
- Good communication skills, motivation for teamwork.
- Flexible and independent way of organizing work with a clear focus on science.
- The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative team but must be highly self- motivated and work well independently.
