IMIC
The Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMIC) is the largest institution in the Czech Republic focusing on the study of microorganisms and their use in medicine and industry.
Soil ecology and ecotoxicology, which examines the impact of harmful substances on the environment, are important areas of research at IMIC. Part of the institute is dedicated to the importance of microorganisms in the development of immunity and in the emergence of autoimmune diseases such as diabetes or gluten intolerance.
The results of our research lead to the development of new drugs and treatment methods against serious diseases such as cancer and whooping cough.
