Open Science

Open Science is an initiative aimed at supporting talented secondary school students who are interested in science and research and have the opportunity to spend a year as scientists at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Thanks to scientific internships, high school students can participate in top scientific research and thus gain valuable experience with scientific work and practice.

Open Science internships are also held at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Here, students can learn how science is done and participate in specific scientific projects under the direct guidance of experienced scientists. Their results often win awards in various student competitions.

HR Awards

We fully adhere to the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code for the Recruitment of Researchers, and we received the prestigious HR Award in July 2024.

Based on the Charter and the Code, research institutions across Europe implement the so-called Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). Those institutions that succeed in implementing the Charter and the Code receive the “HR Excellence in Research Award” (HR Award) from the European Commission. We strive to improve working conditions and relationships between researchers and the institute in order to support the professional development and success of researchers and teams. This is key to successful research and its contribution to society. As part of professional development, we support all forms of mobility in accordance with the principles of the Charter.
