Objective of the project:
The WAAITT project builds on the successful METAMORPHOSIS project, which laid a solid foundation for the systematic popularization of science throughout the Czech Republic. WAAITT expands outreach activities with an emphasis on inclusivity, regional accessibility, gender equality, and the promotion of EU-funded research. The flagship event is the European Researchers’ Night, featuring interactive programs and workshops for the general public. Other events include, for example, the “Scientists in Schools” program, focused on collaboration between scientists and their institutions with elementary and secondary schools, as well as the “Mini Researchers’ Night” for students. Gender balance in STEM fields and beyond is addressed through outreach events that break down stereotypes and support career choices regardless of gender. The project also strengthens the community of science communicators by organizing specialized conferences and training sessions, thereby promoting science communication as an integral part of a research career.
