This instrument was purchased in 2017 from the Modernization and Support the Research Activities of the National Infrastructure for Translational Medicine EATRIS-CZ project (CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_013/0001818), funded by the Operational Programme Research, Development and Education.

Specifications:

  • High-throughput automatic TDCR (Triple-to-Double Coincidence Ratio) liquid scintillation counter
  • Designed for laboratories handling large numbers of samples
  • Sample capacity: 210 large vials (20 mL) or 500 small vials (7 mL)
  • Energy range: β particles 0–2000 keV, α particles 0–10,000 keV
  • Counting efficiency:
    • Tritium (H-3) unquenched > 70%
    • Tritium (H-3) quenched typically ≥ 35%
    • Carbon-14 (C-14) unquenched > 96%
  • Background (H-3 in water): approximately 12 CPM in standard model, lower in the SLe version
  • Active Guard: separate scintillator detector that measures and subtracts background radiation in real time without interfering with α/β discrimination
  • Software supports unlimited method files, extensive data analysis, export to Excel, CSV, or text formats, and multiuser operation
  • Applications: environmental monitoring, radiocarbon dating, biofuel verification, and low-level radioactivity measurements
  • User-friendly graphical interface with improved error handling
  • Dimensions (W × H × D): 1250 mm × 690 mm × 640 mm
  • Electrical connection: 100–240 V, 50–60 Hz
