Photogenic science: Third place goes to soil microorganisms from Laboratory of antibiotic resistance and microbial metabolomics!

Lucie Najmanová and Natalia Slonská were successful in this year’s Photogenic science competition! Three photos made it to the shortlist, and one of them was among the winners of the main category (3rd place) and found its place in the official calendar of the Academy of Sciences for the year 2026. Congratulations!

The Photogenic science competition is organized annually by the Czech Academy of Sciences for its employees. This year, a total of 238 photographs by 81 contestants from 26 workplaces were submitted. A panel of experts selected the 40 best photographs, which you can also see at the Science and Art Gallery on the ground floor of the Czech Academy of Sciences building on Národní třída until January 30, 2026.
